Eliza's birthday is December 30, a mere two days away. Via her Twitter Eliza has mused wanting 400,000 followers by her birthday and promised to do a "lil dance" if it's accomplished. So let's try and make that a reality.

Brittany Murphy Dies at 32

There is sure to be plenty of speculation as to the cause of Brittany's death. This space won't be devoted to that. Leave that to the drivel of tabloids and celebrity second guessers. It may be some weeks before results are back and we have the facts of this tragedy. And in the end it doesn't really matter what the cause as regardless it is tragic that we've lost Brittany Murphy at so young an age. I find myself in some instances feeling like I did when Princess Diana died. Being that in both cases seeing the words that they'd died was so shocking the immediate thought was it must be another person with the same name.

Thinking back these last two days I always thought the first time I seen Brittany in something was Don't Say a Word. Obviously this proves untrue as I seen her in Clueless well before that. I think the reason for the vivid Don't Say a Word memory comes down to three words. "I'll Never Tell". Anyone who seen this film likely feels the same way. It's not the words so much as the way Brittany said them in the film. As with many performances her portrayal of the character just drew you in and made you care for them. You cared about that little girl that lost her father because Brittany made you care with how she played the character. She had an amazing ability to play different ends of the acting spectrum with equal skill. From the drama of Don't Say A Word to the romantic comedy of Just Married.

Anne Hathaway - 2008 Babe of the Year

Anne Jacqueline Hathaway was born November 12, 1982. Her father Gerard is a lawyer and her mother,Kate McCauley Hathaway, is an actress/singer. She's the first and only teenager admitted to the acting program at the award-winning The Barrow Group in New York. Her debut was in the 1999 television series Get Real. The series would be short lived but luckily for us Anne's career would not be. She gained natural notoriety in 2001 when she was cast in The Princess Diaries. Anne would star in it's sequel and stick with family fare with Ella Enchanted. She would break from these types of roles with much more adult ones in Havoc and Brokeback Mountain. Anne has proven her acting chops and varied range by excelling from dramas to comedies. This is one young talent that is sure to be at the top of Hollywood's short list for years to come.
