I want SCC to come back, but I'd be happy with either of them, if SCC didn't come back Summer being in this show would be fantastic (or well, being in anything). Either way, I'll tune in if this one (or SCC) comes back, here's to hoping we get one!

From The Futon Critic last night.

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX is giving its much-ballyhooed drama "Dollhouse" a second season.

The news, which was confirmed by network and studio sources this evening, comes after weeks of industry speculation that often pointed its fate in the other direction.

Nevertheless, 13 new episodes will roll out this fall - more than likely back on Friday nights.

Meanwhile, the network has also pulled the trigger on a fall edition of "So You Think You Can Dance." Said pickup means a sixth season of the series will bow this fall shortly after season five wraps in August.

The news comes on the heels of FOX successfully "doubling up" on its fellow summer entry "Hell's Kitchen" this past season.

Both renewals put what will likely be the final pieces into the puzzle that is FOX's fall schedule, due on Monday.

With Saturdays ("Cops" and "America's Most Wanted") and Sundays (the animated shows) essentially locked in and two hours already devoted to "Dance," one assumes the remaining eight hours will feature some combination of its returning dramas ("Fringe," "Dollhouse," "House," "Lie to Me" and presumably "Bones") and its newcomers "Brothers," "Glee," "Past Life," "Sons of Tucson" and "Human Target." Further complicating the mix: season six of "Hell's Kitchen," premiering Tuesday, July 21 at 8:00/7:00c, could bleed into October should it run for 15 episodes (as was the case for its fifth edition).

Other wild cards include new seasons of "Kitchen Nightmares" and "'Til Death" as well as the already in production "Someone's Gotta Go."

In short: "24" and "American Idol" should have plenty of company at midseason.

I don't know why they would keep it on a night where it's doing so poorly.

The DVR and online streaming numbers are pretty high. Maybe that has something to do with it. They know plenty of people are watching, even if it's not in the traditional manner.

The problem there is, they want the numbers in the traditional way of watching, so I am to, curious as to why they don't move it. One could think, that if the ratings did that bad on a Friday night (when Fox looks for at most a 5.5) why move it onto a night when ratings score much higher? Even still, I am glad to get a second season of this show, as I doubt I'll get a third season of SCC.

I'm not sure what SCC got for ratings but I know that Dollhouse improved on the rating Prison Break was getting when that was the lead in. Moving it to a new night seems like a good idea but ratings also are harder to come by then. They may think that leaving it in the same slot improves the chances of it doing at least as well.

I saw the thirteenth episode they had made, I am pretty curious as to how this will serve as a template for season two, as financially, Joss says he can deliver fantastic episodes (This episode in question was made apparently, on half the budget of a typical season one episode). In other news, Amy Acker has been confirmed to appear in at least three season two episodes of Dollhouse, even more if the new series she is in fails. While not officially confirmed, I have read an article recently where Joss has approached Summer Glau on appearing in the second season. However it has been said that she will not be an active, but instead have a different sort of involvement.

I'd love to see Summer weekly but I just don't think it would be a good fit as the show is always going to revolve around Echo. I could see maybe a recurring character working though.

That's often the rumor, is that she would have some sort of reoccurring role, Joss doesn't want her to be an active, because aside it being to obvious a choice her career so far has consisted of akward characters (River and Cameron the most obvious).

EP13 SPOILERS - HIGHLIGHT TO READ
My theory is that her role will be in the future dystopia we saw in Ep13, either that or as the head of another house.

A fair warning to all, if you consider casting announcements a spoiler of the type, do not read this post.

There's been a fair amount of casting announcements in the recent months, mostly the recent weeks. Firstly, and foremost, Miracle Laurie is indeed, returning in season two (but it has not been mentioned what her role will be, if it's at all changed). Secondly, due to her commitments to a new show, Amy Acker is only signed up for three episodes in the new season, but Joss Whedon has stated that if the show fails (and he actually suspects it will, not so much due to the premise or who's in it, but the fact that just happens these days) she'll have a more active role (or I guess it really meant more appearances) in the season. Moving on, Alan Tudyk has been said to be "returning later" (but it wasn't clear if that meant later in season two, or later in the series), although Alpha is apparently a presence still. The guest list looks pretty good to, Jamie Bamber will appear in the first episode of season two, and Michael Hogan will appear in the second season as well. I have also read that Keith Carradine (I haven't heard of, but he's from Dexeter it seems) is set to appear, and so is Alexis Denisof apparently for a "few episodes". Finally (and definitely not least) Summer Glau has been confirmed to appear in a role that, while not appearing until episode five or so, has been listed as "reoccurring".

I had meant to post this some weeks ago, in case you didn't know, the second season begins on September 25th, and there is a fan movement called "Dollhouse Fridays" in which you watch episodes of Dollhouse to countdown to the season premier (With Epitaph One to be watched on Sept 25th before the second season episode). I myself haven't really followed it, mainly because I wouldn't stop at two, so I'll probably spend a day or two (Thursday and Friday) on the 24th and 25th to watch.

I wont say to much to keep from displaying spoilers (Or I mean to prevent accidentally revealing spoilers), but this season is off to a great start. I will say this; pay attention. Pay attention, because there are things said and done that may not be so obvious if you are just casually watching.

That conversation between Saunders/Whiskey and Topher was an existentialist masterpiece that would make Dostoevsky proud.

But those Friday "Timeslot of Death" ratings are going to kill this show, just as it's turning into something great.

It's possible, I don't know, the DVD sales seem to be doing pretty good and on her twitter I think it was Eliza Dusku or Miracle Laurie that said to DVR it if you don't watch it (or do both) something along those lines. Depends on what Fox counts for ratings, and what their expectations are really, but hopefully things can do good. I tend to agree about the Friday night death slot, but we'll see what happens.

Well, despite how bad the ratings seem to be, Fox has announced that they will indeed air all thirteen episodes which is just as good considering they've filmed eight or nine of them. I was disappointed that Fox put the show on hiatus for a week to air a baseball game, to each their own I guess but after only two or three episodes aired, it's already gone on a break. We'll have to see how it does, there's an arc coming up and Fox is playing it big to a certain someone's upcoming guest appearances.
