Scarlett Johansson - 2006 Babe of the Year

Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984 in New York City. The 23 year old actress is the daughter of Danish - born architect Karsten Johansson and Melanie Sloan, a Bronx native and producer. Scarlett began acting during childhood and made her debut in the critically panned North in 1994. Johansson first gained widespread attention and praise for her role in 1998's The Horse Whisperer. In 2003 she again gained praise for her role in the indie flick Lost in Translation. That year she would be nominated for 2 Golden Globe awards. One for Lost in Translation and one for Girl with a Pearl Earring. In total she's been nominated at the Golden Globe's four times along with a plethora of other awards. Scarlett has also appeared on Saturday Night Live a few times, displaying her diverse talent. Her career is littered with a more varied choice of roles and films than some of her peers. While Scarlett rightly gets attention for her beauty and body she's one of the few that proves to have more substance with a depth of talent and character often lacked in today's Hollywood.
